One of My Favorite In-City, Coastal Modern Rebuilds

We did it again! We got another beautiful project built this year! And it is fabulous! This 2,800 square foot home on a small in-city lot is packed with classic styling, beautiful finishes, and an easy living vibe. It really is such a jewel.

I look forward to sharing many of the details of this property in the weeks and months ahead but let me start with all of my favorite things:

Black, White & White Oak:  I am such a fan of this combination. With beautiful white oak floors, crisp white walls and trim, and black windows inside and out, this combo always speaks to my classic clean styling. We added a beautiful white oak fireplace detail and kitchen hood trim that pulled the spaces together like a big bow.

Kitchen:  The wall of windows is my favorite part of this kitchen! Or maybe the Bertazonni range, or the dutch door, possibly the shiplap detail that we made an easy drop spot off the backyard. It is packed with a style that includes lots of light, counter space, a beautiful gray island with a waterfall detail, and oh, those pendants and sconces. Perfect!

Outdoor Spaces:  This yard is a testament that bigger isn’t always better. This small in-city lot has three separate spaces to enjoy the outdoors. There is a welcoming raised front patio, a lovely backyard, and a petite deck off the primary bedroom. All these spots are ready to be enjoyed depending on your mood.

Primary Bathroom:  I adore this bathroom. I tried the “wet room” concept this time, and I could not be happier with how it turned out. Beautiful marble mosaic floors, ceramic tile walls, an oversized tub shower area, and a soft gray vanity with lovely hardware and mirrors. A soothing pallet makes for the perfect space to get ready or relax.

Upstairs Laundry Room:  I can never say enough about an upstairs laundry space. The convenience is fantastic, and who would not want to do their laundry in this well-appointed room. There is concrete tile flooring, open shelving for display, and an extra deep sink for easy clean-ups. Check, check, and check!

So many more details we loved about this project, but the fact it sold immediately with numerous requests for additional design work from those who did not have the winning bid was truly proof that we did it just right!

Wishing you happy designing!
