Art in Every Home: Start Your Collection Now, Here's How!

Let's talk about art for your home. Art is what I consider the "cherry on top."  There are so many opportunities to showcase artwork. And, it is important to choose the best artwork that fits in with your decorating style and I will show you some ways to do that.

Yes, even a frame tv can display artwork!

My current favorite artist is Harland Miller. I have been tracking him for awhile through the website Artsy. You can buy at auction or purchase outright from a gallery. At the peak of his career, my favorite piece of his is called “Tonight we make History – PS I can’t be there”.

If you are looking for a ground floor investment for your home decor and if you are a beginning collector, is Nicole Bohrer. I found her work at Williams Sonoma ironically when I was in Sonoma! Buying a piece while on vacation, her work brings back great memories of wine and relaxation. (By the way, all art should make you feel something!) Her abstracts are so beautiful. Very calming with a great color palate. She loves to do barns too which would be fun to own as well. Look for more of her work online: nicolebohrer-art.com and Studio Gallery.

For great art that isn't pricey, I use Grand Image, Wendover Art Group, and Mercana. I have found great pieces for staging, clients, and my own home. I learned about all three of these vendors at Las Vegas Market.

No need to be intimidated by the pursuit of art for design. Start with Etsy for prints like these.

Or, add some beautiful photography to your walls via Minted! Yep, you can get affordable limited edition photography from etsy, framed and sent to your doorstep!

Wherever you find your love of art - local fairs, vintage stores, online or perusing art walks, start cultivating now! Art is just the finishing touch that can help pull a beautiful space together. You will be surprised how transformative and personal it makes your space and how quickly your collection grows.

Happy Hunting!
